Something You Might Not Know About Me...
Tuesday 06-17-2008 12:26pm ET

Click Here  Cooter from "The Dukes of Hazzard" stopped by the studio to chat with me about his new book.

WHAT I DID THIS WEEKEND...

...hunted for salmonella free tomatoes to make an authentic okra soup for my ailing 87-year-old grandmother:)

Got the soup recipe from this great cook book written by the Dixon Family in Alexandria, Lousiana:

Got the tomatoes, okra and peppers along with these gorgeous sunflowers from a
Johns Island farm via the open air market in Marion Square
Saturday.

My advice, go early! It gets crowded and crammy hot pretty fast.

Something Else You Might Not Know About Me...

I'm obsessed with the Food Network!

So, imagine my surprise when SC's own Food Network star Tyler Florence cruised into the studio for an interview!

I met Darius Rucker of Hootie and The Blow Fish today.

Rucker is working on a Country solo album  set to be released this Fall.

Yesterday, I met Natasha Bedingfield and was so close to meeting Hewy Lewis - so close! I caught the Memorial Weekend concert outside of Greenville at the Freedom Weekend Aloft Fest. If you've a hot air balloon lover, you need to make the trip one year!

Look at Momma Pat!

This is my very groovy mom-in-law Pat hanging out with Kevin Costner at the Music Farm Friday.

You rock!

Kelly Kicks It in Southern Cali!!!                           Yes--it's true...

I spent Easter Sunday in Southern California (San Diego) on the left coast with the hubby in a rented convertible eating a gourmet meal made by a cousin chef whose skills are amazing. Thank You Angela!

Here were are at Cabrillo monument overlooking San Diego hoping to spot a whale--seriously.

NOT listening to all the guides, we wasted time in the oldest part of town despite all the warnings that it's turned into cheesed out touronville. Don't make the same mistake when visiting San Diego!
